Job Details:

  • Pay: Competitive Basic Salary
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Wednesday, 05:55-17:40 (35.25 hours per week)
  • Permanent

Job Role:

The CNC Setter/Operator will be responsible for setting and operating an Okuma 5-axis vertical machining centre to manufacture high-precision components. The CNC Setter/Operator will produce specialist seals using advanced elastomers and engineering plastics, ensuring strict quality standards are met. Working from detailed engineering drawings, the CNC Setter/Operator will utilise probing systems, CMM, and optical inspection equipment to maintain fine tolerances. This role requires a strong focus on precision and quality within a modern manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator within a precision engineering environment
  • Strong background in setting and operating multi-axis CNC machining centres
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience with Okuma machine controls, specifically OSP-P500 controls
  • Knowledge of Renishaw Reporter software

Shift Pattern:

Initial shift pattern: Monday to Wednesday, 05:55-17:40. Future rotating shift pattern: Week 1 Thursday to Saturday, 05:55-17:40; Week 2 Monday to Wednesday, 05:55-17:40.
