Job Details:

  • Pay: £85,000 to £110,000
  • Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, Days, Full Time (37.5 hours)
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: Car Allowance, 8% employer pension contribution, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Job Role:

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all engineering activities on a major, long-term infrastructure programme. You will ensure that design, technical assurance, constructability, and engineering governance are delivered effectively throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with design consultants, internal engineering teams, construction management, planning, and commercial functions to ensure all engineering works meet technical, safety, quality, and programme requirements. This Engineering Manager role requires strong leadership, a robust understanding of engineering processes, and the ability to interface between design and site delivery teams. You will oversee the development, review, and approval of engineering documentation including specifications, method statements, technical queries, temporary works designs, and assurance records. The Engineering Manager will manage multidisciplinary engineering inputs, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and project-specific standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Manager with a strong background in managing technical delivery on complex civil engineering or infrastructure schemes.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Proven background as an Engineering Manager, Senior Engineer, or Technical Lead on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of engineering design processes, technical assurance, constructability, and temporary works
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, including working with designers, contractors, client representatives, and regulatory bodies
  • Experience operating within NEC contract environments
  • Strong capability in managing technical risks, responding to TQs, handling design changes, and maintaining engineering controls

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Chartered status (CEng, MICE, MIStructE, MCIBSE, or equivalent)
  • Degree (BEng / BSc / MEng) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience delivering highly regulated or high-security infrastructure projects
  • Temporary Works Coordinator or related certification
