What our client is offering for the successful Senior Design Engineer:

The Role – Senior Design Engineer:
- Leading the design and development of hydraulic systems and steel-fabricated structures for agricultural machinery and equipment
- Producing detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation
- Carrying out engineering calculations, validation activities, and hydraulic system sizing
- Supporting prototype builds, testing, and product validation programmes
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, durability, and manufacturability
- Working closely with production teams to ensure a smooth transition from design through to manufacture
- Investigating and resolving technical issues from production, service, and customer feedback
- Liaising with suppliers regarding technical specifications, components, and quality standards
- Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering, safety, and regulatory standards
- Providing technical support and mentorship to junior engineers where required
What our client is looking for in a successful Senior Design Engineer:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Significant experience in a senior design engineering role
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and circuit design
- Experience designing steel fabrications and weldments
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks
- Good understanding of fabrication and machining manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of electronics and control systems, including sensors and CAN-based systems (DESIRABLE)
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on engineering approach
