Job Details:
- Pay: Up to £17.42 per hour
- Hours of Work: 7:45am to 4:45pm Monday to Thursday, 7:45am to 12:45pm Friday (39 hours per week)
- Duration: Permanent
- Benefits: Early Finish Fridays, Pension, Free Parking, Flexible holiday bookings (Based on hours not days)
Job Role:
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for manufacturing fabricated metal parts and assemblies using a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. The Sheet Metal Worker will set and operate workshop machinery such as a brake press to bend and form metal in line with engineering drawings, while also carrying out finishing processes including linishing, deburring, grinding, and polishing to a high standard.
Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:
- Proven experience working as a Sheet Metal Worker with sheet metal/thin gauge steel
- Strong background in metal bending and forming
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Experience operating a brake press machine
Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:
- City & Guilds or NVQ in Sheet Metal work, Fabrication, or similar
- Welding experience (MIG or TIG)
- Previous experience in a similar Sheet Metal Worker environment
