Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading mechanical contractor within the engineering construction industry, in their search for a Coded Pipe Welder to work on a long-term project in Thurrock .
For the successful Coded Pipe Welder, our client is offering:
- PAYE contract – 12-month project
- NAECI Categorised Rates (Grade 5):
- Basic: £22.44 per hour
- Rate A: £31.42 per hour
- Rate B: £40.39 per hour
- Hourly bonus: £2.37/hour (subject to all hours worked)
- £2.00 loyalty payment per worked hour paid quarterly
- Travel & fares paid as per NAECI guidelines
- 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory days (pro-rata)

The Role – Coded Pipe Welder:
- TIG welding of stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems in line with project specifications
- Work effectively as part of a site-based installation team
- Follow safety and quality procedures rigorously
- Complete welding and pipework to a high visual and NDT standard
- Support with the fitting and fabrication of pipework when required
What our client is looking for in a Coded Pipe Welder :
- Level 3 Trade Apprenticeship in Welding or Pipefitting (or equivalent) – ESSENTIAL
- Valid CCNSG, CSCS, or equivalent safety passport – ESSENTIAL
- ACE Card or equivalent welding certification – ESSENTIAL
- Proven experience in TIG welding within a site-based environment – ESSENTIAL
- Familiar with NDT and visual inspection standards – ESSENTIAL
- Must pass a weld test to demonstrate competence
Working Hours (2-week rota):
Week 1:
- Monday: 8 hrs
- Tuesday–Friday: 11.5 hrs/day
- Saturday–Sunday: 8 hrs/day
Week 2:
- Monday–Wednesday: 11.5 hrs/day
- Thursday: 8 hrs
- Friday–Sunday: OFF
