We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Groundskeeper to join our facilities team at Renishaw. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and develop skills in all aspects of grounds maintenance, contributing to the upkeep and presentation of our company sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, strimming, weeding, pruning, and planting.
  • Learn to operate and maintain various groundskeeping equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Support the senior groundskeepers in preparing and maintaining sports pitches, ornamental gardens, and other landscaped areas.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment.
  • Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of outdoor fixtures and fittings.
  • Participate in seasonal tasks such as leaf blowing, gritting, and snow clearance.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • A keen interest in horticulture, gardening, or grounds maintenance.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina for manual tasks.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent punctuality and reliability.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety principles is desirable but not essential.
  • A full UK driving licence.

In-house training on various gardening and mowing equipment can lead to external chainsaw training and possibly a RHS qualification if candidate meets standards during progression.
