Renishaw is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Design Draughtsperson to join the Styli and Fixturing Products Division. Due to continued growth in demand for its fixturing line products and the increasing importance of the service to support growth in Renishaw’s core business, a vacancy has arisen within the fixturing design team. Renishaw’s fixturing team is a multi-skilled team comprising of design, engineering, technical administration and production disciplines, providing modular ‘off-the-shelf’ and bespoke solutions to match customer requirements. A key aspect of this role will be to support our global subsidiary network with standard and bespoke design solutions to suit their end custom needs. There may also on occasion be a requirement to support our standard Styli and Custom Products design teams with day‑to‑day design/draughting work.
Responsibilities
- Redesign current products with a focus on function, quality and manufacturing costs
- Check and approve drawings and data system entries
- Provide design support and assistance with design/process problem solving
- Create drawings for manufactured components and assembly product builds
- Involve in design change process improvement
- Participate in departmental continual improvement projects
- Work closely with all areas of the team to create consistent, quality designs within a tight timeframe
- Liaise with the manufacturing teams to offer design support and problem solving
- Use key Renishaw systems: Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Syteline and PDM
Key requirements
- HNC (or equivalent) as a minimum in a relevant engineering subject
- Working knowledge of engineering design and drawing techniques
- Good PC skills with competency in Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge and understanding of Siemens NX CAD or a similar CAD package; full training will be provided
Desirable requirements
- Previous experience with Syteline and Teamcenter NX
- Familiarity with CMMs, vision machines or fixturing in general
- Knowledge of the Renishaw Fixturing, Machine Tool and Styli product range

They will be methodical and organised, with the ability to manage their own time, ensuring that the workload is prioritised as required. A can‑do attitude with the ability to learn on the job is essential.
