Renishaw’s Encoder Products Division (EPD) is looking for a Technical Administrator to manage crucial design documentation and support the design change process for both new and current products. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Renishaw processes and standards, supporting teams with managing documentation and maintaining data in technical systems.

EPD designs and supplies cutting-edge position feedback technology to the world’s precision measurement, automation, and manufacturing industries. It is made up of engineers, scientists, and technicians all working together to produce market-leading products for sale around the world. Working closely with colleagues in our manufacturing division, we develop manufacturing and assembly processes and software to deliver quality products by the hundreds of thousands that perform reliably and repeatedly to sub-micron accuracies for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and facilitating design changes through the Teamcenter change process, creating and managing product change notices and product change plans.
  • Managing the impact of design changes by identifying all parts, divisions, and stakeholders that are affected.
  • Creating, maintaining, and accurately inputting data in technical and commercial databases.
  • Ensuring all supplied data and documents are compliant with Renishaw and legal standards.
  • Providing general support to the drawing office and division.
  • Collating and maintaining spreadsheet information.
  • Collection of signatures for formal documentation.
  • Liaising with Manufacturing Services Division (MSD) material control to aid in the cut-in of design changes.

Key requirements

  • A good level of education (GCSE minimum), including Maths and English subjects.
  • A high standard of PC literacy, with experience of using Microsoft Office packages (particularly Excel).
  • Experience using ERP and PLM toolsets.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Excellent planning skills able to complete tasks on time and effectively prioritise work.
  • A willingness to adapt and create new processes to maximise efficiency of work.

Desirable requirements

  • Proven experience with creating and managing Teamcenter engineering design changes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Syteline CCAR system.
  • Understanding of encoder production processes.
  • Understanding of technical drawings.

Person specification

The successful applicant will be highly organised and methodical in their approach to work. They will have a good understanding of priority and the importance of deadlines. They must have excellent attention to detail and strong time management skills to handle and organise multiple tasks. The candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude and be willing to take on new, and potentially unfamiliar, tasks and complete them to a high standard using their own initiative.
