Renishaw are offering an exciting opportunity for a Process Development Technician within our Assembly Systems Group, part of our Manufacturing Services Division. Our aim is to develop an ambitious, talented, and self‑motivated employee into a skilled and highly capable development technician. A balanced combination of hands‑on engineering and office‑based work, this role offers a varied multi‑disciplined opportunity working in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of the team delivering technical support to build, develop and deploy innovative, bespoke, in‑house developed, assembly production equipment whilst working in a high precision optical and electro‑mechanical environment. This equipment ranges from complex manual test equipment up to fully automated robotic assembly lines. This role provides an excellent insight to how a manufacturing organisation interacts with the entire business, giving a great opportunity to appreciate the importance of this role and its tangible output.
To enable you to get fully integrated into the position, team, and working environment, you will receive formal and immersive training and be mentored and supported by our management staff. You will contribute to, and develop in areas such as technical support, effective communication, equipment design and compliance, equipment build, commissioning and verification.
Key Requirements
- Four GCSE passes (or equivalent BTEC) grades A‑C including 2 STEM subjects
- HNC or NVQ3 level qualification (although relevant experience will also be considered)
- Accomplished IT skillset
- Excellent problem solving and practical skills
- Good communication and social skills
- Be an engaged, enthusiastic, and motivated individual
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in mechanical or electrical equipment build, commissioning and verification.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and BOM’s
- Understanding of pneumatic systems
