Renishaw is currently looking for an Import / Export Coordinator to join a dynamic logistics & compliance function. You will be responsible for the accurate execution of day‑to‑day import and export activity in line with procedures and customs regulatory requirements. As an Import / Export Coordinator, you will ensure shipment data, documentation and records are complete, accurate and properly controlled to support timely customs clearance and audit‑ready outcomes. The role is execution‑focused, operating within defined procedures, with clear escalation routes for anything unclear, incomplete or outside standard process.

Responsibilities

  • Shipment preparation & documentation control: Prepare and manage end‑to‑end import and export shipment files in line with internal procedures. Ensure all required documentation is received, validated and retained correctly, including commercial invoices, packing lists, transport documentation, and supporting customs and compliance data. Check documents for accuracy, consistency and completeness prior to clearance or dispatch.
  • Import activities: Prepare and issue clearance instructions to brokers or forwarders in line with agreed processes. Validate key import data including commodity code, customs value, quantity, Incoterms, CPC and EORI details. Identify missing, inconsistent or unclear information and liaise with internal stakeholders or external partners to resolve issues. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved within standard process or delegated authority.
  • Export activities: Check exports against licence requirements and export declarations. Support proof of export and VAT evidence checks. Ensure final documentation and declaration records are retained in accordance with record‑keeping requirements. Support amendments or corrections where required and update shipment records accordingly.
  • Registers, queries & record keeping: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date import and export registers, including shipment status, documentation and correspondence. Respond to routine queries from brokers, forwarders and internal stakeholders, providing corrected or missing information promptly to avoid delays. Support document retrieval for follow‑up queries, reconciliations or audit requests.
  • Quality, control & escalation: Ensure shipment files are complete and properly closed out. Highlight recurring issues, data quality concerns or process inefficiencies to senior team members. Work within defined procedures and delegated authority, escalating technical, unusual or higher‑risk matters appropriately.
