Salary: Band: 5, £26,473 – £28,239 p.a. (with progression up to Band 7).
Level 6 integrated degree apprenticeship with the University of West England. 37 hours per week including release for study. Office attendance is required but remains flexible, subject to business needs.
The Public Health Apprentice role is offered over 3 years and will enable you to work towards a university degree and professional registration as a Public Health Practitioner. You will build your skills and grow confidence, working with different teams across public health and partner organisations (council, schools, NHS, community groups). You may be involved in project work such as healthy weight, smoking cessation, sexual health, mental health or infection prevention.
By the end of the apprenticeship you will measure and report on local health and wellbeing using data and feedback, find and use good evidence, support decisions, work with policies and plans, understand the decision‑making process in local government and help plan and manage projects and programmes. Flexibility may be required to meet deadlines.

Who is the person summary:
Good numerical and literacy skills (maths and English level 2 functional skills) and an A or T level or equivalent are required. You should have good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to use initiative, juggle multiple tasks and work with a variety of people. IT literacy is required. We are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable, keen to learn and willing to undertake the apprenticeship qualification and any other job‑specific training.
