Frewen College is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school specialising in dyslexia and co-occurring Specific Learning Difficulties. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our Learning Support team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly specialist setting, supporting young people from Year 7 to Sixth Form to develop the speech, language and communication skills they need to access learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.

The Role

  • Assess and deliver targeted interventions for pupils with dyslexia and co-occurring speech, language and communication needs.
  • Support the development of phonological awareness, expressive and receptive language, language processing and literacy related language skills.
  • Work collaboratively with Teachers, boarding staff, parents and external professionals to provide integrated, evidence-based support.
  • Contribute to EHCPs, annual reviews and specialist reports.
  • Deliver elements of the school’s study skills programme, including whole class sessions.
  • Provide specialist advice as part of the admissions process.
  • Undertake outreach, advisory work and training as part of the school’s traded portfolio.
  • Play a full and active part in the wider life of a thriving independent boarding school.

About You

  • A qualified Speech and Language Therapist, registered with the HCPC.
  • Experienced in supporting children and young people with dyslexia and associated SpLDs.
  • Confident working within a school and multidisciplinary team.
  • An excellent communicator, organised, flexible and solution focused.
  • Committed to inclusion, wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Experience of advisory work, training delivery or working across multiple settings would be welcomed.

Hours and Conditions:

  • Term Time: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (typically 8:30am – 4:30pm)
  • Outside Term Time: 11 days per year, including INSET
  • Flexibility around hours and location may be required to support outreach services.
