Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We’re looking for Waking Night Support Workers to join our team at The Manor House in Newtownabbey; a respite service providing temporary care and support that gives both the people we support and their families a much-needed break.

These are permanent roles available for 24 and 32 hours per week, paying £13.00 per hour plus a £0.50 per hour waking night enhancement. Shift patterns can be discussed at interview.

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will be awake and actively supporting throughout the night, ensuring the people we support feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for until the morning team arrives. Full training will be provided so no previous experience is needed, just the right values and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Please note: this post is restricted to female applicants. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, calm, and reassuring
  • Caring and empathetic
  • Reliable and consistent throughout the night
  • Willing to attend training and develop in their role

This role might include supporting people with:

  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Medication and wellbeing
  • Providing reassurance and comfort overnight
  • Keeping accurate records and handover notes for the morning team
