Leeds City College are seeking a Teacher of Health, Science and Social Care to join us at our Quarry Hill Campus. We are looking for someone with the passion and skills to teach primarily at Level 3, but with some flexibility to deliver on other levels as required. The School of Health, Science and Social Care supports around 900 students on courses from Level 1 to Level 3 to prepare them for careers in the NHS, Ambulance Service, Social Care and allied professions. The department consistently achieves outstanding outcomes for students and has a supportive and friendly team. Please note, this is a fixed term role. The role is expected to commence on 19 August, dependent on timelines, and will run on a fixed-term basis until 30 June 2027.
What You Will Do
- Teach primarily at Level 3, but with some flexibility to deliver on other levels as required.
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources and activities.
- Deliver inspiring lessons using a wide range of teaching methods including digital skills.
- Assess and provide regular feedback to learners, supporting them to achieve their highest potential grades.
- Record student progress ensuring they are kept up to date in their assessments.
About You
- A passion for subjects relating to Health and Social Care and desire to support young people to achieve their very best.
- Relevant up-to-date subject knowledge from working in the sector or recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
- Recent teaching delivery demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles in any setting.
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible towards the requirements of different learner needs.
