Salary: Starting Salary of £33,806 with progression opportunities to £37,494 per annum depending on skills and experience, plus company vehicle and additional earning opportunities through call out.
Shift Hours: Permanent Multi Skilled Operative Kings Lynn, but travel throughout Norfolk and North Suffolk will be required. Full time (40 hours per week) – Monday to Friday.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Operative, with a main trade of Plumbing/Carpentry to join our Team. This role will work to help deliver an effective and efficient service to our residents, working on occupied and empty homes in order to deliver responsive repairs (primarily our North and West areas covering Dereham / Kings Lynn and surrounding areas) and our planned works programme, including Kitchen and Bathroom upgrades and Aids and Adaptations. You will ensure that works are carried out in a timely manner and to ensure a high standard of workmanship is maintained to our properties. This plays a key role in being responsible in providing an excellent service to our residents.
Main focus of the roles will be:
- To be responsible for effective and efficient repairs/works to our homes, carrying out works to a high standard in empty homes and occupied properties.
- To complete allocated work within carpentry/plumbing trade/skill set as well as any additional trade/skills such as tiling, painting/decorating, plastering/patch plastering and vinyl floor laying etc. further training can be provided.
- To help us provide an excellent service to our residents, minimising call backs and maximising first time fixes.
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Minimum of either full trade Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
- Skilled in other trades such as tiling, carpentry, plastering/patch plastering, painting, vinyl floor laying and decorating etc.
- Experience fitting Bathrooms.
- A full UK driving licence as travel throughout Norfolk and North Suffolk will be required.
- Experience of working in Property Maintenance.
- Good IT, literacy and communication skills.
- A positive can-do attitude and the ability to work independently and problem solve.
All staff and volunteers working for Broadland will always be expected to act in a manner that is consistent with our corporate values and behaviours. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and will join our on-call rota.
