As our Site Operative, you will be working in a multi-disciplined environment, supporting site waste operational activities, including operating various items of mobile plant, general maintenance of the site, including wheel wash, haul roads and water management.

Main responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain excavation, haulage, compaction, and grading mobile plant on site
  • Manage the tipping area, ensuring thorough compaction and waste coverage at the end of each day
  • Managing and controlling hauliers on site, ensuring their and others’ safety
  • Inspect the landfill for hazards, instability, or environmental issues like gas emissions or leachate
  • Perform duty of care checks on waste streams and products, ensuring they comply with acceptance criteria
  • Perform routine checks and minor repairs on machinery and maintain the landfill site, including litter control, general housekeeping, and other operational tasks that improve the site’s effectiveness, such as managing and maintaining the site wheel wash and controlling and managing dewatering equipment
The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the role of Site Operative will have previous experience of using mobile plant and previous exposure in operating in landfill or other waste facilities would be advantageous. Furthermore, if you have a mobile plant certification in NVQ / EPIC / CITB, can demonstrate a strong focus on Health.
