About the role

The Regional Adoption Agency require a full time (37 hour) Business Officer (part-time will be considered for the right candidate) to support the Letter Box team. Your role will primarily be to administer Post box requests which entails uploading agreements for letter box contact to a portal, dealing with queries from birth parents and adoptive parents, sending letters and information to both Adoptive parents and birth parents. You may also be required to minute Adoption Medical Meetings, Child Appreciation Days and other meetings where appropriate for which training will be provided. You may also be required to carry out other tasks across other teams within the Regional Adoption Agency and/or Children’s social care.

You will need good administration skills and the ability to prioritise your work. This role has specific deadlines that need to be adhered to, so will require attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that these are met. Good communication skills will also be required as you will be liaising with external agencies such as medical professionals, other local authorities and Government bodies. You will be expected to work on your own initiative, keep calm under pressure and work to deadlines. You should have a methodical, concise and flexible approach to tasks and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. You will need a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft packages (Word and Excel) and be able to use databases. You do not need to meet all of the essential criteria to be able to apply, we are looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to learn. This role is primarily based in Huntingdon, but there may be a need for you to travel to Peterborough.
