The purpose of this role is to undertake radiotherapy interventions to the highest professional and technical standards, working with Medical, Radiography, Physics and Administrative colleagues.
As a senior radiographer you will be under the supervision of the relevant operational manager and will undertake all elements of the pre‑treatment pathway, including scanning, virtual simulation and mould room duties to a high standard of complexity. You will also deliver external beam radiotherapy using complex techniques and equipment, and participate in the delivery of brachytherapy. Additionally, you will prepare data for treating patients, attend planning meetings when appropriate, and be involved in clinically relevant administration.
The post holder will be required to work in all areas of the department and maintain flexibility with rota changes. As a key element of the role, the post holder will provide information, education, practical and emotional support to patients and carers throughout their radiotherapy episode.
Based at Royal Surrey County Hospital with satellite service at East Surrey Hospital, the post offers the opportunity to broaden clinical skills and undertake comprehensive treatment pathways. Contract options include both permanent and fixed‑term arrangements. A 9‑day fortnight working pattern provides a fixed day off every two weeks, alongside CPD opportunities and access to Macmillan learning resources.

- Experience of collaborating with other staff groups

- Experience commensurate with a Band 6 post in complex treatment techniques and processes
- Understanding of radiotherapy pre‑treatment activities including virtual simulation
