The Role: A vacancy has arisen for a FLT Driver/Material Handling at our Markham Vale Site. The role involves working a 12 hour continental shift pattern working 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am. Reporting to a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day operations within the factory facility as well as the safe and efficient loading/unloading of pallets, whilst health and safety is adhered to at all times. This challenging position demands a proactive “hands on” approach, complemented by accuracy, adherence to deadlines and laid down procedures.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
- Counterbalance / FLT – Essential
- Knowledge of warehouse Health and Safety requirements.
- Safe stacking and unstacking large quantities of pallets into racking.
- Moving pallets from storage areas to loading areas for transport.
- Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the pallets to their designated storage areas.
- Excellent time management with a flexible approach to work.
- Skills: accuracy, attention to detail, reliability, computer literate.
- Able to work to tight deadlines and targets – under own initiative and as part of a team.
- Naturally self-motivated and have the ability to work under minimum supervision.
- The willingness to carry out other tasks as and when required.
