Salary up to £41,000 (£34,000 + 20% shift allowance) depending on experience. Renishaw are offering an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Engineering Technician within our Manufacturing division. You will contribute to areas such as technical support, process improvement, process validation and real life, time-pressured problem solving. A balanced combination of hands‑on engineering and office‑based work, this role offers a varied multi‑disciplined opportunity working in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of the team, delivering technical support to electronics assembly and test processes, interfacing with engineers and production staff, whilst working in a high precision printed circuit board (PCB) assembly & test environment. This role provides an excellent insight to how a manufacturing organisation interacts with the entire business, giving a great opportunity to appreciate the importance of this role and its tangible contribution to all areas and product lines.
The position is open to applicants who have experience and to those with the right background who are seeking to develop their career. In the latter case, to enable you to get fully integrated into the position, team, and working environment, you will receive formal and immersive training and be mentored and supported by our management staff.
Please note that this is a Double Day shift‑based role: week 1 – 6am – 2pm, week 2 – 2pm – 10pm.
Key requirements:- Four GCSE passes (or equivalent BTEC) grades A-C including 2 STEM subjects
- HNC or NVQ3 level qualification (although relevant experience will also be considered)
- Accomplished IT skillset
- Excellent problem solving and practical skills
- Good communication and social skills
- Be an engaged, enthusiastic, and motivated individual
- Successful application of structured problem solving and statistical analysis techniques
- Awareness of lean manufacturing tools and techniques and an understanding of production metrics
- Understanding of / experience with printed circuit board assembly or test processes
- A broad and developing range of technical and communication skills
- A true experience of being an integral part of a manufacturing environment
