Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a skilled Full Stack Angular Software Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies. Collaborating with Business Analysts, UX designers, and other engineers, you will deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions.

As Avaloq's Web Banking solutions experts, our team is responsible for developing and improving the corresponding modules for our clients in the German market. Following Agile development processes, we take care of all aspects related to our Web Banking offering by leveraging on our Avaloq Core Platform and tailoring the product to the market demands. You will be part of an international and dynamic team of Software Developers and Business Analysts spread across several locations all over Europe.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining high-quality, scalable front-end applications using Angular framework and implementing responsive designs that work seamlessly across various devices and browsers.
  • Collaborating with back-end developers to integrate front-end components with server-side logic.
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to continuous improvement of development processes, staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development.
  • Optimizing application performance and loading times for enhanced user experience, and troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise.
  • Contributing to the planning and estimation of development tasks and sprints.
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record working in front-end development, with a strong focus on Angular including NgRx and RxJS.
  • Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript and RESTful API integration.
  • Experience in Java, Hibernate, JPA, ORM and microservices, object-oriented and functional programming and solid understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience with version control systems (preferably Git and Bitbucket) and web performance optimisation.

It would be a real bonus if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering or related field.
  • Additional European language skills (ideally German).
  • Experience of writing test cases like unit and integration testing (JUnit, Cypress etc.).
  • Worked with OpenShift, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Oracle Cloud.
