Join Capgemini’s Integration & Data (I&D) practice, where we Consult with Purpose, Continuously Evolve, and Architect Tomorrow. As a Data Architect, you will play a strategic role in shaping and delivering enterprise data architectures for our Financial Services clients. You will lead the design of scalable, secure, and cloud-enabled data platforms that empower organisations to harness data as a critical business asset.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role:

  • Accountable for delivering effective solution designs within the Banks EDL and ODS Platforms on Cloudera in AWS taking the lead on the delivery from a data design perspective.
  • Design end-to-end data lake and distributed data solutions to meet business needs within the context of a broader solution implementation.
  • Contributor to overall solution planning providing input into the factory estimation process as well as highlighting technical risks issues and assumptions.
  • Review design artefacts from other data solution architects within the factory team.
  • Define and derive best practices in the data space adopting industry best practices and highlighting areas within the data factory that require remediation from a technology or process perspective.
  • Produce required design artefacts independently or as part of a team.
  • Work with the business and programmes to help refine their data requirements.
  • Present to the Banks Architecture Review Board when necessary.
  • Engage with key stakeholders in the Group Data Office and across the business.
  • Provide support to and engage with non-factory solution architects on change initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions align with strategic architecture principles and direction.
  • Review the designs produced by the technical teams to ensure alignment with the overall solution design.
  • Support the delivery lead to break down the solution so that it can be delivered iteratively in sprints.
  • Support other engineering functions within the factory including mapping build test and release.
  • Review requirements and monitor change requests to ensure that the solution design is fit for purpose.

Your Skills:

  • Highly experienced solution architect in designing solutions for large-scale distributed data projects and programmes working in complex multivendor change delivery organisations.
  • Deep distributed data platform knowledge and experience particularly on the Cloudera CDH/CDP Platform or similar technology on both On-Prem and Cloud.
  • Experience with processing large datasets as well as streaming data and unstructured data sources including Cassandra, HBase, Kafka, and Spark.
  • Strong ETL and data pipeline experience particularly with modern big data toolsets such as Airflow and Nifi or equivalent.
  • Strong programming background in either Java, Python, or Scala.
  • Experience in modern engineering practices and technologies.
  • Good working knowledge of data architecture principles.
  • Continuous improvement and innovative mindset.
  • Financial services experience would be advantageous.
  • Broad experience in complex enterprise IT estates with an ability to add value to projects and programmes quickly.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to take a lead role and take ownership of complex data deliveries.
  • API Exposure, Integration, Streaming, Change Data Capture.
