FM Conway is currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to work within our Plant and Workshop Division. The role is a full-time permanent position based at our Dartford depot in Kent.
The duties of the Yard Operative role will include:
- Checking stock and allocating plant numbers for hires
- Assisting drivers and customers with loading and unloading plant
- Securing plant, equipment and assets within the yard and depot areas
- Moving plant and equipment around the yard into correct storage areas
- Liaising with the plant workshop foreman and plant hire co-ordinator regarding daily run sheets, required plant for delivery and plant being returned to the yard
- Assisting with holiday and sickness cover on the wash bay as required
- Undertaking weekly asset stock audits around yard and depot
- Driving and operating a forklift
- Running machines weekly to avoid the batteries going flat
What skills and experience do you need?
Candidates should have experience working within the highways or construction industry, be strong team players, possess good communication skills, and recognise hazards within a busy yard. A forklift ticket is desirable but not essential.
