What You’ll Do
You will establish and lead a global Compliance Monitoring & Oversight program within the Global Compliance function. This role will establish the team from the ground up – designing the framework, building the infrastructure, building the team, and proving the model – with an initial focus on client engagement risks, where the need is most acute. Over time, the scope of monitoring will evolve to encompass the broader compliance risk landscape as the function matures. This role combines strategic program design with hands‑on execution, requiring you to define the operating model, build and lead a new team, and implement monitoring and anomaly detection processes that provide meaningful oversight across complex engagement work. The position requires strong leadership, structured problem‑solving, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment. The role is responsible to continuously enhance the program’s effectiveness. A critical dimension of this role is a commitment to challenging the status quo – continuously evaluating where AI, automation, and emerging technologies can replace manual processes, improve detection, and scale the program’s reach. You will partner closely with stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Risk, IT, and business teams to embed monitoring capabilities into engagement lifecycles, drive adoption, and continuously enhance the program’s effectiveness.
- Program Design & Governance
- Design and implement a global compliance monitoring and controls framework focused on client engagement risk oversight, aligned with regulatory expectations, internal policies and industry best practices.
- Define program governance, including policies, standards, and oversight mechanisms tied to engagement lifecycle risks.
- Identify gaps in current risk management practices and develop scalable, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
- Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to enhance visibility into engagement‑related risks and trends.
- Program implementation & Project Management
- Drive structured project management and lead end‑to‑end program development, including defining the operating model, workflows, and tools to support engagement‑level monitoring.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, and supporting documentation to implement and operationalize monitoring practices across client engagements.
- Manage timelines, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
- Establish metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks, including AI‑assisted analytics to enhance visibility into engagement‑related risks and trends.
- Operations & Innovation & Scalability
- Oversee day‑to‑day execution of compliance monitoring activities across client engagements, with a focus on high, medium risk cases.
- Ensure consistent application of controls and monitoring standards across regions, teams, and engagement types.
- Analyze monitoring outputs to identify trends and emerging risks; translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, and supporting documentation aligned to engagement processes.
- Champion culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation, proactively challenging established processes and identifying opportunities to do things differently.
- Lead the identification, evaluation and implementation of AI‑enabled tools, automation, and data analytics capabilities that enhance monitoring quality, increase coverage, and reduce manual effort.
- Partner with IT, Risk Product Portfolio agile teams to translate emerging technology capabilities – including generative AI, anomaly detection, and workflow automation – into practical program enhancements.
- Define and own the technology roadmap for the monitoring & oversight unit, ensuring tooling and infrastructure scale as program scope expands.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing team – including hiring, onboarding, and defining roles and responsibilities.
- Set clear goals and performance expectations aligned with program objectives.

- Experience
- 10+ years in compliance, risk management, audit, or assurance – with demonstrated experience overseeing risk in client‑facing or engagement‑based environments.
- Proven track record of building or transforming programs, processes, or functions in complex organizations.
- Proven experience leading large‑scale projects or programs end‑to‑end.
- People leadership experience, including hiring and developing teams; experience in a global or professional services environment strongly preferred.

Who You’ll Work With
You will work at the intersection of Compliance, Legal, Risk, and BCG’s consulting business – partnering with case team leaders, functional heads, and senior stakeholders across regions. Internally, you will build and lead a new team within the Business Services Risk function. Externally, you will represent BCG’s compliance monitoring posture to regulators and auditors where required. This role reports to senior leadership within BCG’s Risk & Compliance function.
