About the role
Do you have a knack for helping people, and a desire to work at the heart of the local community? We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile person to join our friendly and hard-working team. St Neots Library is a busy and vibrant library serving a growing, and diverse, community. As well as catering for all ages with our selection of books, we organise regular activities and events, and work closely with schools and other local groups.
This is a part-time post based at St Neots Library for 18.5 hours per week on average as follows:
- Week 1: Wednesday 3.00-7.00, Thursday 9.30-5.00, Friday 9.00-1.00, Saturday 12.00-4.15
- Week 2: Wednesday 3.00-7.00, Thursday 9.00-5.15, Friday 9.00-1.00
This post may involve working at other libraries when required and by arrangement. Interviews will be held at St Neots Library. Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. About you
- Demonstrate your understanding of delivering good customer service.
- Interpersonal skills, including patience and listening skills with an ability to establish exactly what the customer requires.
- A pleasant, helpful manner with customers of all ages and abilities.
- A strong team player, able to work with colleagues on projects and contribute to team goals.
- An ability to work under pressure and with limited supervision.
- Flexibility and adaptability in all areas of work, including being able to respond to a change in hours or workplace location.
