ROLE PURPOSE
The Commis Chef plays an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen within a fast‑paced event and hospitality environment. Working closely with senior chefs, the role involves preparing ingredients, maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards, and assisting in the delivery of high‑quality dishes across live events, conferences, and exhibitions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Kitchen Operations
- Support senior chefs with food preparation and service across multiple kitchen sections.
- Maintain clean, organised, and efficient workstations at all times.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and to high quality standards.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
- Event & Service Support
- Assist with catering for live events, conferences, exhibitions, and hospitality services.
- Adapt to changing event requirements and support smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
- Help prepare dishes that cater for dietary requirements and diverse guest needs.
- Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with chefs and wider kitchen teams to deliver excellent service.
- Communicate effectively during service to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Support a positive and professional kitchen culture.
- Learning & Development
- Learn from senior chefs and actively develop culinary skills and techniques.
