FM Conway is currently recruiting for a Commercial Assistant to join our successful Commercial Team. As our Commercial Assistant you will provide accurate and value-generating input to our projects, ensuring all commercial aspects are carried out in accordance with the contract, company policies and procedures. This is a full time, permanent position based from our depot Purley Oaks, Croydon.

The duties of the Commercial Assistant role will include:

  • Undertaking cost value analysis for all aspects of the works including Reactive and Schemes
  • Performing risk, value management and cost control activities for the benefit of the contract
  • Managing the change control process, capturing, notifying, valuing and agreeing variations and contractual claims
  • Providing advice on the procurement strategy to include cost value analysis and procurement of sub-contractors
  • Valuing work within various management software and arranging invoice and payment application to clients and payments to sub-contractors
  • Proactively managing cashflow with WIP and debt monitoring, including proactive cash collection ensuring prompt payment
  • Analysing cost trends and identifying cost savings in support of the contract

What skills and experience do you need?

We are looking for a candidate with strong administrative skills, who is competent in the full Microsoft Office Suite. You will have a strong eye for detail and excellent organisational skills. Experience in the highways or construction industry would be beneficial. To be considered for this role you will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent. This role will involve travel to other FM Conway locations, therefore you must be able to drive and possess a full UK driving licence.
