Software Engineer PL SQL – Makati City in Bournemouth

The Tax team is a dynamic group of Software Engineers and Business Analysts located across multiple development centers. We operate with an agile approach, collaborating closely with the Product Owner and related teams to develop and enhance tax‑related functionalities. Our team focuses on delivering efficient, compliant, and innovative tax solutions for clients in the Switzerland and Liechtenstein (CH&FL) region.

Your Key Tasks:

• Collaborate Proactively: Work closely with the Team Lead, Product Owner, Business Analysts, and fellow Software Engineers to align on development goals and processes.
• Solution Design & Review: Write solution designs for new tax functionalities, and review these designs with technical leads and architects to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Client Workshops & Requirements Analysis: Participate in client workshops, supporting business analysts in gathering and analyzing tax requirements.
• Develop & Maintain Tax Solutions: Design, develop, and sustain robust solutions within the team’s tax‑focused responsibilities, ensuring they meet high standards for accuracy and efficiency.
• Optimize Existing Functionalities: Continually improve and optimize existing tax‑related functionalities to adapt to changing regulatory needs.
• Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain automated tests, ensuring quality standards are met across tax‑related functionalities.
• Ownership & Responsibility: Take full ownership of your area of expertise, driving progress and accountability.
• Agile Processes & Tools: Operate with an agile mindset, using platforms like Jira for process tracking and issue management.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics or equivalent Business degree.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Excellent client‑orientation and strong communication skills with a service‑oriented attitude.
• Proactive, self‑motivated with passion for learning and self‑improvement.

It would be a real bonus if you have:

• Experience with banking industry/systems/Avaloq Banking Suite.
• Experiences with SQL / PLSQL.
• Experiences with Legal Reporting Tool or IFRS Accounting schemas.
