This is a great opportunity to join a successful, award-winning, family-owned business, which specialises in waste removal services. Due to the type of work involved, you will need to be able to deal with unpleasant scenes and situations; someone that is thick-skinned. The role could be suited to someone with an ex-military background, but applications are welcome from anyone.
You must be able to work in confined spaces, such as lofts and attics. You will be working on a variety of projects, from house and office clearances to biohazardous material pick-ups for hospitals in the region, and garden junk removal. Some sites may require working in confined spaces or loft areas, and these environments can sometimes be quite dirty. Our client is also committed to protecting the environment by implementing a zero-to-landfill policy.
What we need from you as a Site Clearance Operative:
- Ideally you will be based local to Tamworth, such as Lichfield, Atherstone, or Nuneaton and hold a UK Driving Licence (ideally with access to your own vehicle for commute to the company premises in Tamworth)
- Able to work in confined spaces, such as loft clearances - this is essential
- Physically fit, as the work can be physically demanding
- A good personality - friendly, polite, and approachable
- Sense of humour but professional when required
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to use your initiative
- Hardworking, trustworthy, and motivated
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to pass a DBS check
What the role involves:
- Lifting and moving heavy objects/furniture and clearing sites daily
- Liaising with clients and customers in a professional and, when necessary, compassionate manner
- Adhering to Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Completing daily vehicle checks and accurate legal paperwork for clients
- Reporting to your line manager promptly about any issues
- Managing jobs effectively, often requiring creative problem-solving
Salary/Hours:
£24,000 - £28,571 per year, working Monday to Friday, 7.30 am - 5.30 pm, 45 hours per week. Opportunities to work weekends if additional work arises.
