This is a great opportunity to join an established and successful Dry-Cleaning business. Our client is looking for an experienced Seamstress / Counter Assistant to join their team. This is a varied role combining clothing alterations and repairs with providing excellent customer service and assisting with the day-to-day running of the shop.

Previous experience with clothing alterations and repairs is essential for this position.

What we need from you as a Seamstress / Counter Assistant:

  • Previous experience working as a Seamstress, Tailor/Tailoress or in a similar clothing alterations and repairs role essential
  • Confident carrying out a range of clothing alterations and repairs
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly, approachable and confident dealing with customers
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Comfortable with cash handling and cashing-up procedures with experience using a cash register/EPOS system
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Knowledge of the dry-cleaning process would be an advantage, but is not essential

What the role involves:

  • Carrying out clothing alterations and repairs
  • Serving customers and providing an excellent customer service experience
  • Taking in garments and discussing alteration and repair requirements with customers
  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of the shop
  • Opening and closing the shop when required
  • Ensuring the shop is kept clean and presentable
  • Working towards targets set by the business
  • Cash handling, cashing up and banking procedures

Salary: £14.00 per hour.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm and the occasional Saturday 9am - 1pm. Full-time or part-time hours available, to be agreed at interview stage.
