This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Architectural Technician/Architectural Technologist to join an established, family-run business specialising in maintenance, refurbishments, refits and building works. Based in Hurley, Atherstone, this is a varied, hands-on role working across a range of projects, including listed buildings and heritage/conservation work. You will have the opportunity to work independently, manage projects from initial survey through to completion and see your technical work brought to life. The company is happy to consider full-time or part-time hours, with some remote/hybrid working available. Nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays will be required, and ideally you will be available from early October or sooner.
What we need from you:
- Qualified or suitably experienced Architectural Technician / Architectural Technologist
- AutoCAD experience is essential
- Competent in producing CAD drawings for Planning and Listed Building Consent applications
- Experience producing CAD drawings and technical details for Building Regulations submissions
- Able to prepare and submit Planning applications from start to finish
- Able to prepare and submit Listed Building Consent applications from start to finish
- Confident liaising with Local Authorities, Conservation Officers and Building Control
- Previous experience with listed buildings, listed Building Consent and heritage/conservation projects is highly desirable and will be a key consideration
- Able to attend sites, undertake surveys and translate survey information into accurate drawings
- Capable of working independently and managing your own workload
- Experience project managing technical or construction works would be beneficial
- Comfortable with nationwide travel when required
- Full UK driving licence
- Desirable: Commercial/building fabric experience
- Ability to prepare heritage statements
What the role involves:
- Carrying out surveys of existing buildings
- Producing accurate CAD drawings from site survey information
- Preparing drawings and documentation for Planning applications
- Preparing and managing Listed Building Consent applications
- Producing technical drawings and details for Building Regulations submissions
- Managing applications from preparation through to submission and approval
- Liaising with Local Authorities, Conservation Officers and Building Control
- Providing technical and project support throughout works
- Supporting the delivery of projects through to completion
- Travelling to sites throughout the UK when required
Salary: £40,000 per year working full time. Part-time 3 days per week: £24,000 per year. Part-time 2 days per week: £16,000 per year. Applications are also welcome from those seeking subcontract work.
Hours: Office hours are 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am-4:00pm Friday, with the option for flexible/hybrid working depending on workload, site visits and business requirements.
