We have a great opportunity for a Cook to join the team of a succesful and popular Whitehaven town centre cafe.

You will be working 5 days per week (daytimes only no evenings!) and (except during December) you get Sundays, and one other day of the week, off.

The food you will be preparing / cooking ranges from breakfasts, soups, pies, quiches and main meals to afternoon teas.

You will also have input into the menu and specials, giving you the opportunity to bring your own ideas to life.

  • Assist in the planning and development of new recipes and menu items.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared to a high standard.
  • Supervising kitchen staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Help train new kitchen staff.

About you

  • Experience as a Cook or Chef.
  • Familiar with food safety standards and health and safety.
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • A passion for cooking and creating great home cooked food for customers.
