Are you passionate about leading digital transformation and shaping the future of core business systems? I’m working with a North East based Housing Association to recruit for a Core Systems Development Manager within their ICT & Digital team. This is a key leadership position responsible for the development, enhancement, and ongoing management of the organisation’s core business systems, covering housing, repairs, assets, finance, HR, and payroll.
You’ll take ownership of the core systems development function, leading a talented team to deliver high-quality, efficient, and secure systems that meet the needs of the business. You’ll be responsible for shaping development strategy, managing change, and ensuring enhancements are delivered in line with organisational priorities.
This role will suit someone who combines strong technical understanding with strategic leadership. You’ll be accountable for driving continuous improvement in how systems are developed and maintained, ensuring they are robust, reliable, and aligned with the wider strategy. You’ll act as a bridge between technical teams and senior stakeholders, influencing direction, managing change, and promoting innovation across the organisation.
Working closely with business leads, suppliers, and partners to ensure systems are fit for purpose, contracts are managed effectively, and new technologies are introduced in a controlled and forward-thinking way. You’ll also lead activities to ensure security, privacy, and compliance are embedded into all aspects of systems development.
You will be a great fit if you have experience in:
- Systems Development with Social Housing, Local Authority or Providers into these sectors.
- Background in managing technical teams.
- Understanding of relational databases.
- ICT Governance practices.
They are looking for an engaging leader, someone who can coach and develop others, drive performance, and create a culture of collaboration and improvement within your team. The role sits within the Core Leadership Team and plays a central part in shaping how technology enables the organisation’s mission and values.
This is a hybrid role, typically 2–3 days a week onsite, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work across key sites in the North East. The salary is £50,000 to £60,000 with some flexibility and a great benefits package.
