Are you acting as an Architect but without the recognition? This role gives you the opportunity to shape what architecture looks like across the whole organisation. I am working with a Housing Association based in the Northeast to recruit for a Solutions Architect to help them deliver a major transformation programme. This is a unique opportunity to join a newly created architecture function and influence what “good” looks like, while working on projects that will consolidate systems, move them towards the cloud, and improve experiences for customers and colleagues.
You’ll be part of a fully-fledged IT team that includes service desk, infrastructure, developers, DBAs, system owners, and business analysts. Your role is hands-off from coding but technical in the sense that you’ll bring your IT background and use it to assess technology options, facilitate workshops, and pull the right people together to make things happen. Once requirements are clear, you’ll guide the process and keep things moving in the right direction.
This isn’t just about designing solutions, it’s about influencing the organisation and bringing IT teams on the journey. You’ll work closely with the Enterprise Architect and act as the technical expert at ground level, helping shape the architecture landscape and supporting big decisions. With a major transformation underway, including rationalising systems and migrating to Azure, there’s plenty of opportunity to make an impact.
You’ll have a strong technical background, whether from low-code or pro-code development, and understand the principles of end-to-end solution design. You’ll be confident assessing technology platforms, facilitating workshops, and influencing stakeholders. Knowledge of architectural design principles, integration patterns, security frameworks, and cloud deployment (Azure) will help you succeed. Experience in system integration, complex architecture and rationalising IT Landscapes is essential.
The salary on offer is £66,000 with a great benefits package. The role is hybrid with 2 days a week required onsite in Newcastle. This is essential for the role to ensure you are building relationships, networking with the business, understanding the scope and building out the architecture.
