Recruit with purpose are supporting a leading housing association in Sunderland who are looking for an IT Product Owner to join the organisation!

About the Role:

Recruit with purpose are excited to support this newly created role for an IT Product Owner who will shape the strategy, adoption, and innovation of our core Microsoft (Azure, Co-pilot, M365 and SharePoint). You will be reporting into the Head of IT & Infrastructure, and you’ll be the vital bridge between technology and business needs ensuring these platforms deliver real value, improve ways of working, and empower colleagues across the organisation.

A strong communicator and collaborator is sought after in this position, with interpersonal skills and the ability to talk technically and non-technically to stakeholders across the business. This is essential for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and communicate a clear roadmap for Microsoft 365, Co-pilot, and SharePoint in line with business priorities.
• Promote new features and best practices to drive user engagement and productivity.
• Prioritise features, user stories, and tasks, ensuring delivery through cross-functional collaboration.
• Partner with vendors and internal teams (Security, Infrastructure, EUC) for smooth deployment and support.
• Gather feedback, analyse needs, and continuously improve the user experience.
• Build strong relationships, provide updates, and manage expectations effectively.
• Oversee governance, performance, and risk, ensuring security and standards are met.

What You’ll Bring to the role

• Experience as an IT Product Owner or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (including Co-pilot) and, ideally, exposure to SharePoint
• Background in ITSM, project delivery, and stakeholder management.
• Problem-solving ability and confidence managing complex technical challenges and vendor relationships.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into business language.
• Familiarity with Power Platform (Power BI, Fabric) and Azure is a bonus.
