Have you reached a point in your career where you’re already doing half the architect role but you’re not being recognised for it yet? You’re probably the one people go to for the tricky decisions. You’ve led engineers, influenced design, challenged direction. You’ve also already shaped cloud solutions even if your title doesn’t say Architect.
This London based Housing Association is hiring for a Cloud Architect to work on their large-scale on-premise to Microsoft Azure migration. Rather than owning architecture in isolation, the role sits alongside third-party partners, reviewing and validating solution designs before they go through technical design authority and into implementation. A key part of the role is to challenge both external partners and internal teams, ensuring solutions are robust, cost-effective, and aligned to best practice.
The organisation is navigating the shift from on-prem to cloud and needs someone who can bridge that gap, bringing clarity on how things should be designed and operated in Azure. You’ll be part of a wider architecture function (solution, technical, and functional architects), contributing to architecture governance, while also supporting a roadmap that moves from lift-and-shift migration into longer-term transformation (including data platform evolution).
You would be an excellent fit as Cloud Architect if you have:
- Hands-on involvement in a large scale on-prem to Azure migration.
- Deep understanding of Azure services down to component and network level.
- Made architectural or design decisions - you do not need to be an Architect already, you could be a Technical Lead or Senior Engineer.
- Comfortable reviewing third-party solutions and questioning decisions.
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks & governance.
- A clear understanding of structured approaches to architecture and able to contribute to governance processes.
This is therefore a genuine step-up into architecture, not just in title but in responsibility. You’ll be supported by experienced architects while having real ownership from day one, shaping outcomes on a modern cloud transformation journey. All within a collaborative, people-first environment that gives you the space to grow with confidence.
This is a London based hybrid role with two days a week in the office. The salary on offer as Cloud Architect is £90,000 to £95,000 with some great benefits.
