Recruit UK are looking for a Financial Planner (Desk-Based). About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful and technology-driven financial planning team as a Financial Planner. You’ll provide desk-based financial planning advice and ongoing service to an established client bank, supporting clients with investable assets of up to £250,000. Working within a hybrid environment, you’ll focus on building strong client relationships, delivering holistic financial planning solutions, and helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.

As a Financial Planner, you will:

  • Manage and develop relationships with an existing client portfolio.
  • Proactively engage with clients to review their financial planning needs and deliver ongoing advice.
  • Convert existing legacy clients to the firm’s ongoing service proposition.
  • Provide holistic financial planning advice across investments, pensions, protection, and retirement planning.
  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive client engagement and referrals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience through timely communication and high-quality advice.
  • Utilise industry-leading technology and systems to enhance client outcomes and adviser efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver holistic financial planning solutions tailored to individual client needs.
  • Review and service existing clients as part of the firm’s ongoing advice proposition.
  • Achieve revenue and business development targets.
  • Identify opportunities to generate additional advice income and referrals across the wider group.
  • Ensure all client recommendations and reports meet regulatory and internal compliance standards.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of financial planning products, legislation, and market developments.
  • Adhere to Consumer Duty, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), and Regulatory Conduct Risk (RCR) principles.
  • Maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external professional introducers.
  • Ensure excellent client outcomes through high-quality advice and service delivery.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance client experience and regulatory compliance.

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) - Essential.
  • Experience within Financial Planning, Paraplanning, Wealth Management, or Private Client services.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, and protection planning.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Experience using CRM systems, databases, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Cashflow modelling experience desirable but not essential.
  • A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering excellent outcomes.
