Are you a Level 4 qualified Paraplanner or nearly qualified and looking for your next opportunity with a growing and ambitious wealth management business?
We’re working with a rapidly growing wealth management group who are expanding their paraplanning team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner to join a collaborative environment where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical knowledge, support Financial Planners and play an active role in improving the wider paraplanning function.
The Role
As a Paraplanner, you’ll work closely with Financial Planners to research and prepare high-quality financial advice, producing accurate and compliant suitability reports and supporting documentation.
You’ll manage your own caseload while also providing technical support to Advisers and contributing to the training and development of other Paraplanners.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and draft high-quality suitability reports in line with regulatory and departmental requirements.
- Work closely with Financial Planners to ensure client information is complete and accurate.
- Interpret adviser meeting notes and assist in preparing appropriate recommendations.
- Research existing policies, investments and pensions and obtain relevant illustrations and supporting documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Financial Planners on more complex cases.
- Maintain accurate workflow records, client files and case documentation.
- Manage your own caseload effectively and work to agreed deadlines.
- Support the coaching, mentoring and development of other Paraplanners.
- Help maintain and improve paraplanning tools, processes and technical reference material.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the overall client experience.
- Maintain up-to-date technical and industry knowledge.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or a few exams away
- At least 1 year’s Paraplanning experience within a similar environment.
- Strong technical knowledge across the wider financial planning spectrum.
- Good understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisation and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively under pressure.
- A collaborative approach with the confidence to support and communicate with Advisers and colleagues.
- Previous coaching or mentoring experience would be advantageous.
