Why You'll Love It
This isn't one of those jobs where you're expected to stay in the same position for years hoping a leadership opportunity eventually appears. If you've found yourself mentoring newer Osteopaths, supporting students, naturally taking the lead within your team or thinking, 'I'd love to run a clinic one day', this could be exactly the next step you've been looking for. Our client isn't expecting you to arrive already knowing everything about running a clinic. Instead, they're looking for an excellent Osteopath with strong clinical skills, plenty of ambition and the enthusiasm to grow into a leadership position. You’ll continue doing what you love clinically whilst gradually stepping into a genuine Clinic Principal role, supported by structured mentoring, leadership coaching and an experienced network of Clinic Principals. It's a fantastic opportunity to build a long-term career where your development is every bit as important as your patient outcomes.
All About You
We're looking for an Osteopath who combines excellent clinical care with a genuine passion for helping others succeed.
- Current GOsC registration
- About 3-6 years' post-qualification clinical experience
- Strong manual therapy and clinical reasoning skills
- Confidence managing a broad range of musculoskeletal presentations independently
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary working
- A genuine interest in mentoring, leadership and developing other clinicians
- A proactive, positive attitude and a desire to help shape the future of the clinic
Previous mentoring, student supervision or leadership experience would certainly be advantageous, but it's your attitude, potential and desire to progress that matter most.
What Will You Be Doing?
You’ll continue delivering outstanding Osteopathic care whilst gradually developing the leadership skills needed to become a successful Clinic Principal. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and treating a varied private musculoskeletal caseload
- Managing both straightforward and more complex MSK presentations through thorough assessment and clinical reasoning
- Creating personalised treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Working closely alongside Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists and other healthcare professionals within the multidisciplinary team
- Utilising advanced treatment technologies, including focused shockwave therapy where appropriate
- Participating in regular clinical discussions and in-house CPD
- Supporting junior clinicians through mentoring, case discussions and knowledge sharing
- Taking increasing responsibility for aspects of the clinic's daily operations as your leadership journey develops
- Helping maintain exceptional clinical standards and an outstanding patient experience
- Playing an active role in the continued growth and success of the clinic
As your confidence grows, you'll receive structured support to develop your skills in leadership, mentoring, operational management and clinic development.
Working Hours and Environment
This is a full-time permanent employed role based within a modern, beautifully presented private clinic in the heart of Taunton. You’ll join a genuinely collaborative multidisciplinary team where ideas are welcomed, learning is encouraged and everyone shares the same goal of delivering exceptional patient care. The environment strikes an excellent balance between clinical autonomy and team support, allowing you to grow both as an Osteopath and as a future leader. Alongside your clinical sessions, you’ll have dedicated time to develop the leadership skills needed to confidently progress into a Clinic Principal position.
Reaching Your Potential
Our client genuinely believes that great leaders are developed, not simply hired. From your first day, you’ll follow a structured leadership pathway designed to help you transition confidently into your future Principal role. Rather than being thrown in at the deep end, you’ll benefit from ongoing mentoring, regular one-to-one support and access to an established network of experienced Clinic Principals who have already walked the same path. You’ll also have access to an internal professional development academy covering advanced clinical reasoning, communication, leadership and business development, alongside opportunities to broaden your clinical expertise through technologies such as diagnostic ultrasound, focused shockwave therapy and exposure to injection therapy services delivered within the clinic. For someone who’s ambitious and excited by the idea of combining excellent patient care with genuine leadership, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career with a growing organisation that actively invests in its people.
