Why You'll Love It

If you're looking for a flexible private Podiatry role where you can walk into existing patient demand while continuing to develop your skills, we think this one is well worth a look. Our client is continuing to grow their Podiatry service across South West London and wants someone who can become a genuine part of that journey. You won't be handed an empty diary and expected to magically make it busy. There are already patients to treat, alongside regular internal referrals from an established team of Physiotherapists and Osteopaths. There's also plenty of scope to make the role your own. You might love traditional Podiatry and want a varied private caseload. Or perhaps you're keen to develop further into MSK, biomechanics, gait analysis and orthotics. Either way, you'll have the patients, technology and multidisciplinary support around you to do it. And importantly, our client understands that flexibility matters. They're looking for around two days per week initially, but are open to discussing how those hours work around the right person.

All About You

You’ll be an HCPC Registered Podiatrist who is confident delivering excellent patient care and managing your own caseload.

Essential:

  • HCPC registration as a Podiatrist
  • Confidence managing a general Podiatry caseload
  • Excellent communication and patient-care skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Ideally, you’ll also have experience or an interest in:

  • Verruca and ingrown toenail management
  • Nail surgery
  • MSK Podiatry
  • Biomechanics and gait analysis
  • Orthotic assessment and prescription

Around two years' post-registration experience would be ideal, but Podiatrists with more or less experience are encouraged to apply. You don't need to tick every desirable box. If you're a qualified Podiatrist with solid clinical foundations and an interest in developing further, we'd still like to hear from you.

What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll manage a varied private Podiatry caseload across our client's South West London clinics. Your caseload may include:

  • Routine Podiatry and chiropody
  • Corn, callus and nail care
  • Verruca and ingrown toenail treatment
  • Nail surgery where appropriately trained
  • Diabetic foot assessments
  • Biomechanical assessments and gait analysis
  • Orthotic assessment and prescription
  • MSK foot and ankle assessment
  • Foot and ankle rehabilitation

You’ll also benefit from referrals across the wider multidisciplinary team and have the opportunity to contribute ideas as the Podiatry service continues to develop.

Working Hours and Environment

The role will initially be approximately two days per week, with genuine flexibility around how those hours are structured. Morning clinics, afternoon clinics and full days can all be considered, with scope to increase your sessions as patient demand grows. You’ll work across clinics in Wandsworth Town, Clapham Junction and Putney, all with excellent South West London public transport links. The preference is for someone to join on a permanent employed basis, although a self-employed arrangement may also be considered for the right Podiatrist.

Reaching Your Potential

If you’re interested in developing beyond general Podiatry, there’s plenty here to get excited about. You’ll work alongside experienced Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and other healthcare professionals, with access to technology including diagnostic ultrasound, Shockwave Therapy and VALD force plates. That creates excellent exposure to MSK, biomechanics and rehabilitation while allowing you to continue building a varied general Podiatry caseload. As the service grows, there’s also scope to increase your sessions and play a bigger part in shaping how Podiatry develops within the practice. Equally, you don’t have to become an MSK specialist. If your strengths sit within traditional Podiatry, they’ll be valued too.

We retain the right to close the advert early if a suitable candidate is appointed. Employment offers are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. Our client promotes diversity and equal opportunity.
