- About the Opportunity
The Food Services Department are seeking enthusiastic and reliable people to join our team to provide a range of high-quality food services in a hygienic, cost effective and nutritious manner to the staff and prisoners at the Centre.
Reporting to the Catering Supervisor, the primary objective of a Catering Officer is to supervise prisoner employees.
Catering officers work a 14-day roster, in the provision of high-quality food services for the staff and prisoners of Fulham Correctional Centre.

To be successful in this role you will
Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Bakery. C ertificate II in Commercial Cookery would be considered with appropriate skills and experience.
- Ensure adequate supply of produce is on hand utilizing company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that prisoner employees meet personal hygiene industry standards.
- Ensure adequate prisoner employees are on shift to complete the daily duties as required.
- Supervise prisoner employees by being able to instruct and give clear direction, which will assist with the preparation, production and distribution of food.
- Ensure that all relevant acts and regulations relating to corrections and food service are adhered to.
- Ensure that no meal is tampered with.
- Ensure that prisoner employees are disciplined according to company policy.
- Supervise the safe use of all equipment and ensure that the correct PPE is always worn by prisoner employees.
- Report any equipment breakages or tool discrepancies immediately to the Catering Supervisor or Food Services Manager.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety and EEO/WGEA Requirements in accordance with relevant legislative requirements and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of safety and equity in the workplace.
- Satisfactorily complete all duties and responsibilities in accordance with relevant company policies and procedures.
- Work as directed by the Catering Supervisor or Food Services Manager.
Other Requirements of the Role
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Ability to work within a correctional setting, which will involve direct contact with prisoners.
- Work outside of ordinary business hours may be required on occasion.
