A client based in the ME3 area is recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and assisting the Group SHEQ Manager for ensuring that our site complies with all SHEQ requirements and regulations and that our employees work in a safe and healthy environment. This position is ideal for candidates with a relevant SHEQ or engineering qualification and ideally a minimum of 1 year of industry experience or considering a move into a SHEQ function, though we may consider a suitable graduate. The successful candidate will receive guidance and training from our Group SHEQ Manager. The successful candidate will be based in a standalone role and may be required on occasion to travel to branch offices across Ireland and the UK for training and client meetings. A highly varied, challenging role providing invaluable exposure to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHEQ policies and procedures.
- Review regular risk assessments and safety audits.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on SHEQ practices.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of SHEQ Audits; safety inspections, incidents, and training.
- Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Stay up to date with the latest SHEQ regulations and best practices.
- Liaising with clients and represent the company in meetings.
- Prepare tender documents for SHEQ segment of submittal.
- Provide support and advice on aspects of strategy and implementation of health and safety policy.
- Collaborate to develop company SHEQ strategy.
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Proven experience as a SHEQ /Health and Safety Advisor or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of SHEQ regulations; best practices and ISO standards.
- Experience with EHS Management Systems, safety schemes and tendering e.g. ISOs, Achilles, SSiPs etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and competence in report writing.
- Ability to work within strict deadlines.
- Ability to be able to prepare Audits & SHEQ reports.
