A client based in the Middlesbrough area is recruiting for a Buyer/Stock Controller to support our continued growth. We are looking for an ambitious individual, ideally with experience in the electrical wholesale industry or knowledge of electrical installation products (this experience is desirable not essential). This is a key position within our operations team, ensuring we maintain accurate stock levels, secure competitive pricing, and support the sales team with quotations and tenders.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor warehouse stock levels and replenish inventory in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with existing suppliers to maintain strong commercial relationships.
  • Identify and establish relationships with potential new suppliers to support business growth.
  • Work closely with the sales department to provide pricing input, product availability information, and support with quotations and tenders.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and stock control records.
  • Assist with stock forecasting, demand planning, and identifying slow-moving or high-demand lines.

Skills & experience

  • Experience in electrical wholesale or knowledge of electrical installation products (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ambitious, proactive, and keen to develop within a growing business.
  • Confidence in using computer systems and stock control software.
