Are you an experienced recruiter or proven salesperson looking to build and grow your own desk with full delivery support? This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established, long-standing recruitment business expanding its Exeter office.
The Opportunity
You’ll work closely with an experienced senior consultant who has successfully built the Exeter operation and now needs a second Account Manager to support further expansion. They focus on IT recruitment, the niche you work is open - they have been recruiting in IT for 30 years so can help you develop the right plan, to get you launched. This role offers a blend of autonomy and strong support: you will drive your own business development, to find new business and develop a pipeline of jobs to fill. There is a dedicated delivery team that will work with you to find, reference, take people through the interview process for the roles you pick up. The company values long‑term relationships, honesty and determination, and has exceptional staff retention — most employees have been with the business for over a decade!
Build & Run Your Own Desk
- Win and manage new client relationships across any sector (no geographical or specialism restrictions).
- Take full ownership of your accounts while choosing whether to use the central delivery team or source independently.
Client & Candidate Management
- Maintain close client contact while the delivery team sources suitable candidates.
- Oversee the recruitment process from job qualification through to placement.
Sales & KPI Expectations
- Set and work toward first-year billing targets (tailored to experience).
- Focus on meaningful activity and quality output — not aggressive KPI micromanagement.
What You’ll Receive
- Salary & Commission: £30,000ish base salary. Team commission paid on all deals across the whole company (typically works out at: £4‑5k annually). Personal commission on 100% of your billings, earn from the first £1 you bill. OTE realistically ~£60,000 in year 1. Option for a guaranteed salary ramp‑up for early months.
- New Business Incentives: £500 for each new client (once billed) and again for the second placement.
- Benefits: Company car after 6‑9 months. Hybrid working: 4 days office / 1 day WFH. Strong operational support including HR and a dedicated contracts manager. A collaborative team culture with a strong emphasis on support, teamwork, and long‑term growth.
