We are seeking a friendly and organised Counter Assistant to join a cosmetics sales team. You will be working 28 hours per week over 4 days per week which includes Saturdays. This is your opportunity to join a friendly sales and customer service focused team within an established and successful local business.

Your job

  • Welcoming customers, answering questions, recommending products, upselling and advising and assisting with transactions.
  • Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service, including welcoming customers, answering questions, and assisting with purchases.
  • Sales: Building rapport with customers, and delivering expert product recommendations.
  • Visual Merchandising: Maintaining a clean and organised store environment and participating in visual merchandising efforts.
  • Cash Handling: Operating the cash register and handling transactions.
  • In-Store Events: Participating in in-store events to drive sales and customer engagement.

About you

  • Previous experience in retail or customer service.
  • Proactive / consultative sales background.
  • Knowledge of cosmetics and beauty products.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and balancing tills accurately.
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good time management to prioritise duties during busy periods.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Able to work Saturdays as part of your rota.

  • Starting wage of £12.26 per hour (review in April).
