As a Depot Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day running of a busy depot operation, helping to ensure transport and warehouse activities run safely, efficiently and on time. Working closely with the Depot Manager, you will take responsibility for supervising operational teams, maintaining service levels and ensuring standards across the site are consistently achieved.
This role would suit an experienced logistics professional who enjoys being operationally hands-on, leading from the front and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. The successful Depot Supervisor will play a vital role in keeping the operation running smoothly while supporting continuous improvement across the depot.
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the depot across transport and warehouse activities
- Support Drivers, Warehouse Operatives and Administrators to ensure daily operational targets are achieved
- Assist with daily transport planning, route coordination and workload allocation
- Monitor vehicle availability and support efficient driver and fleet utilisation
- Ensure all warehouse and transport activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Carry out regular operational checks to maintain compliance standards across the depot
- Support stock control activities including stock checks, goods in and goods out processes
- Monitor depot KPIs relating to service delivery, productivity and operational performance
- Support onboarding and training for new starters within the depot operation
- Help maintain accurate operational records, compliance documentation and timesheet information
- Ensure housekeeping and operational standards across the depot remain consistently high
- Act as a key point of contact during operational hours to support the wider depot team
Previous experience within a transport, warehouse or logistics supervisory role is required. A good understanding of transport and warehouse operations within a fast-paced environment is essential, along with knowledge of health and safety within logistics operations. Experience working with operational systems including WMS, routing or transport systems is advantageous. Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel are necessary, as well as knowledge of compliance processes within transport and logistics.
The role involves a 40-hour working week across operational hours of 6am to 6pm with flexibility required.
