We are recruiting two Installation & Test Engineers to join an established technology manufacturer based in Market Deeping. The company designs and manufactures specialist electronic communication systems used in safety-critical environments worldwide.

Working within a project team, you will be responsible for the build, installation, commissioning and testing of complex communication systems at customer locations throughout the UK and internationally. You will also deliver technical training and provide ongoing support to customers during project implementation. This role involves extensive travel, including occasional overseas assignments lasting up to two months.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating and delivering Factory Acceptance Tests to meet contractual, customer and programme requirements.
  • Leading the installation, commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing of complex communication systems.
  • Travelling to customer sites throughout the UK and internationally.
  • Conducting site surveys and providing technical advice ahead of installations.
  • Diagnosing technical faults and delivering practical solutions during installation and commissioning.
  • Producing accurate test, installation and project documentation.
  • Building strong working relationships with customers and providing technical support throughout project delivery.
  • Delivering operator, maintenance and on-the-job training to customers in the UK and overseas.
  • Communicating customer feedback, site issues and product improvement opportunities to internal engineering teams.
  • Supporting system build, testing and customer support activities when not working at customer sites.
  • Providing technical input to engineering, applications and installation teams.
  • Representing the business at exhibitions, demonstrations and industry events, including setting up and supporting technical equipment.

What we are looking for:

  • A-Level qualifications in Maths and a Science subject, an HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Knowledge of electronic communication systems, including their design, specification and testing.
  • Knowledge or experience of RF communications equipment.
  • Previous experience installing, commissioning or testing radio communication systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and system documentation.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to deliver technical training to customers and end users.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to anticipate challenges and plan practical solutions.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
  • A positive, adaptable and customer-focused attitude.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The flexibility to travel extensively within the UK and internationally.

Security and screening requirements:

Due to the nature of the products and customers involved, successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance. Applicants must be able to provide a complete and checkable five-year history covering employment, education and any periods when they were not working or studying. Any offer of employment will be subject to the successful completion of the required security and pre-employment checks.
