Toolmaker Manual or CNC Peterborough | £16.00£20.00 per hour | Permanent | Day shift | Overtime available An established specialist engineering company in Peterborough is looking to appoint an experienced Toolmaker to join its skilled manufacturing team. Applications are welcomed from candidates with either manual or CNC machining experience. Working from engineering drawings and customer specifications, you will manufacture, modify, repair and maintain precision tooling and engineered components. Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include: Operating manual or CNC milling, turning and other machine tools. Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings. Identifying and resolving machining, tooling and dimensional issues. Working closely with design, manufacturing and assembly colleagues. Ensuring completed work meets the required quality and delivery standards. The position offers varied engineering work rather than repetitive, high-volume production. We are interested in hearing from experienced Toolmakers with either manual or CNC machining skills. Previous experience as a Toolmaker, Precision Machinist or similarly skilled engineer. Strong manual or CNC machining skills. The ability to work accurately from engineering drawings. A good understanding of engineering materials, machining methods and workshop practices. Confidence using precision measuring and inspection equipment. The ability to work independently and solve practical engineering problems. A reliable and quality-focused approach. Manual milling or turning. CNC milling or turning. CAD/CAM or offline programming. One-off and small-batch precision engineering. Monday to Thursday: 8:00am5:00pm. Additional overtime is available. 16.00£20.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. ~ Permanent position. ~ Regular overtime opportunities. ~ Company pension scheme. ~ Annual leave increasing by one additional day for each completed year of service, up to 25 days. ~ Bank holidays in addition to annual leave. ~ Early finish every Friday.
