Are you a hands-on, detail-focused assembler looking to join a respected manufacturing team? We are seeking Production Assemblers just outside Peterborough to support the build of high-quality PCBAs, wiring looms, electro-mechanical assemblies and final products in line with our client's manufacturing standards. As a Production Assembler, you will play a key part in assembling electronic and mechanical components used in our industry-leading communication systems. You will work to strict quality standards, interpret build-to-print documents, and ensure each assembly meets internal manufacturing requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly and soldering of PCBAs to IPC Level 2 standards
- Assembly of wiring and cable looms, including cutting, terminating, crimping and preparing power, data and RF cables
- Building A-List and B-List radios and sub-assemblies to internal quality standards
- Reading and interpreting electro-mechanical drawings and work instructions
- Identifying electronic components and verifying values and polarity
- Operating jigs, tools, and calibrated test equipment
- Performing simple electrical tests such as continuity checks
- Cleaning PCBAs using approved processes
- Conducting visual inspections and reworking where necessary
- Following Health & Safety, Environmental, and Company Codes of Practice
Person Specification
- Experience in assembly, soldering, or electronic/mechanical manufacturing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions
- Understanding of RoHS requirements (advantageous)
- A proactive team-player with good communication skills
Hours of Work and Pay
- Duration: 1-year fixed term
- Salary: 26k/annum
- Hours: Full-time Monday to Friday (37.5hrs)
- Start: Immediate, subject to a successful DBS check
- Location: Easily accessible from Peterborough and surrounding areas (free parking)
