Fire & Security Engineer

This is a Fire & Security Engineer role with a growing company that genuinely looks after its engineers.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Servicing, maintaining and fault‑finding fire alarm and security systems across a range of client sites.
  • Carrying out remedial works, system upgrades, additions and minor modifications as needed.
  • Undertaking small works installations, including extensions to existing systems and smaller standalone fire and security systems.
  • Making sure every system you service, repair or install meets regulatory and company standards.
  • Keeping accurate service records, including test results, certificates, as‑fitted drawings and system documentation.
  • Working closely with the service team and fellow engineers to deliver timely, effective support.
  • Providing technical support and clear advice to clients, with a high standard of customer service.
  • Responding to call‑outs on a one‑in‑five‑week standby rota.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of four years' proven experience servicing and maintaining fire and security systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industry‑leading fire alarm and security systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Clear communication skills and a genuine focus on customer service.
  • A strong work ethic and a positive, can‑do attitude.
  • The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • An eagerness to learn, with the adaptability to handle varied work across different sites.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • A salary of up to £40,000.
  • Overtime paid at time and a half for on‑site work beyond 4.30pm.
  • A call‑out rota of just one week in five, with £135 per week standby pay and door‑to‑door paid at time and a half on call‑out.
  • Travel time paid beyond the first 30 minutes each way, at the standard rate.
  • A commission incentive scheme.
  • A company van for business use.
  • 20 days' annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays and a day off for your birthday.
  • All power tools and testing equipment provided, with engineers supplying their own hand tools.
