Fire & Security Engineer

This is a Fire & Security Engineer role with a growing company that genuinely looks after its engineers.
- Job Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintaining and fault‑finding fire alarm and security systems across a range of client sites.
- Carrying out remedial works, system upgrades, additions and minor modifications as needed.
- Undertaking small works installations, including extensions to existing systems and smaller standalone fire and security systems.
- Making sure every system you service, repair or install meets regulatory and company standards.
- Keeping accurate service records, including test results, certificates, as‑fitted drawings and system documentation.
- Working closely with the service team and fellow engineers to deliver timely, effective support.
- Providing technical support and clear advice to clients, with a high standard of customer service.
- Responding to call‑outs on a one‑in‑five‑week standby rota.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of four years' proven experience servicing and maintaining fire and security systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of industry‑leading fire alarm and security systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Clear communication skills and a genuine focus on customer service.
- A strong work ethic and a positive, can‑do attitude.
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- An eagerness to learn, with the adaptability to handle varied work across different sites.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Pay and Benefits
- A salary of up to £40,000.
- Overtime paid at time and a half for on‑site work beyond 4.30pm.
- A call‑out rota of just one week in five, with £135 per week standby pay and door‑to‑door paid at time and a half on call‑out.
- Travel time paid beyond the first 30 minutes each way, at the standard rate.
- A commission incentive scheme.
